RSS is already there. For those who are unaware, there is a feed icon on the address bar of the browser. If you click on that, you would get a feed in your feed reader. There is an excellent resource for those who are not aware of this: http://computer.howstuffworks.com/internet/basics/rss.htm
This means that you would get site wise notification of the same immediately as soon as something is posted. This would also help you to track the developments in real time.
As for others, I had discussed this with Santam through email.
This can get a bit technical, so apologies. Facebook and Twitter accounts utilize OAuth authentication which means that users would no longer need to register themselves through Wikidot. Although there is no issue with current system but it is "isolated".
A separate Twitter stream can be issued; there are lot of Radiation Oncologists who maintain Twitter profiles. I think (I am not sure) that it's possible to update Twitter automatically as soon as something is posted here through RSS. This would help to keep the feeds fresh and be more discoverable. As for Facebook page, if most of the members have a FB profile, it would be easier to connect the two accounts together.
There is another Twitter like service called as identi.ca which can also be integrated.
And yes, I had suggested some changes to main form like V Bulletin like format which makes it very easy to integrate the existing systems. I'd just look around Wikidot to see whether it's feasible or not.
