Making a strong case for Hyperthermia

Many a times I wonder, why shouldn't we use Hyperthermia given it's theoretical advantages as well as proven effect in many phase II/III trials. Just because it is cumbersome? Or that we need more research in this? What is the opinion (divided or consensus) opinion of the forum?

I agree with you, there is enough evidence in literature for corporates and governments to consider implementation of such machines.
Unfortunately there is no pharmaceutical intervention.
It is cumbersome, lack of interest amongst clinicians
We have new toys to play with IMRT, IGRT, etc

No major companies like VARIAN who would market machines for hyperthermia.
Breed of oncologists with no practical experience in delivery of hyperthermia.

Its a sad state of affairs like the story of Nimorazole for H & N cancers, which could nt conquer the global quest in H & N cancers.
A modality which is forgotten and may die within a couple of decades.
