A 45 yr old female presented with tinnitus and a CT scan revealed a 3 cm lesion in the L jugular foramen consistent with a glomus jugulare. No neck adenopathy. No cranial nerve signs.
ENT surgeon is not keen on surgery.
Patient is otherwise asymptomatic and in good general condition. No medical comorbidities. No prior HN surgery or RT.
Is RT an option - if so what dose?

There are 2 options if surgery is not being considered:
1) If not particularly symptomatic, active surveillance with 6 monthly imaging (MRI/CT) and 3-6monthly clinical evaluation. Consider treatment when symptoms worsen or there is definite radiological enlargement. Often remains stable for many years.
2) If symptomatic - conformal RT to lesion to a dose of about 45Gy/25Fr
